2007 Fellowship Report

Fellowship, Parish Growth and Publicity Committee
The Fellowship, Parish Growth and Publicity Committee is working this year to organize events and create ways to help move the parish forward. The goal of the Committee is to have a fellowship event every month. We are undecided about events for the end of year and welcome any suggestions from the parish community.
The Fellowship has scheduled the Progressive Dinner for Saturday evening October 13th. The Progressive Dinner is a long standing Christ Church Tradition. It begins with hors′ d’oeuvre′s and cocktails at the home of one the church members and then participants go to several different homes for dinner. At the completion of dinner, everyone comes together again in a single home for dessert. It is a wonderful way for members of the congregation to get to know each other and to enjoy a more intimate time of dinner and discussion as well.
The second major ‘fellowship’ event is the Advent to Christmas party on Sunday, December 2nd. This parish gathering follows the Lessons and Carols for Advent, which will be offered in the church at 5pm. The Advent to Christmas party will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine, beer, soft drinks and music for the season.
It will also incorporate a ‘Christmas auction.’ Parallel to the adult party, the young people will have their own party with pizza, soft drinks, making of Christmas treats and a visit to the Secret Room. Donations to cover the cost of each of the parties will be requested. Reservations will be required for both parties. Further detailswill be in later editions of the Chart.
Parish Growth
We
continue to discuss various ways to increase the size of the membership in
Christ Church. We welcome suggestions from the Parish community.
Publicity
Going forward, the Committee will consider creative ways to publicize the events and successes of the Christ Church Community.
