2006 Almost New Shop Report
____________________________________________________________________________________________
We opened the third year of the “Almost New Shop” at 1351 Northern Boulevard, (The Blue House) on September 14th with customers waiting at our door.
Our area has expanded to the 2nd floor, making a separate room for the children’s section and a men’s area, the later, proving to be most successful. We are now using the entire house.
To all those who have given their time, I am most grateful.
The board to oversee the business this year consists of Dick Field and Valerie Siener, both of whom are more than willing to give their help and support at a moments notice.
The major problem that we have is Volunteer Help. The past two years we had full time manager who had to move on to permanent position elsewhere. As of now we count on 6 volunteers who are not constant. All serve one half to a whole day a week. We must have one to three individuals who may act in my place if I was absent. This fact will determine whether we open for a fourth season.
As in previous years, our customers, as well as our donors are mostly non-parishioners. We find one a person comes to look us over, they never fail to return. They become a friend. I still wish we had more support for our family at Christ Church. PLEASE come in and see what we are about – the business is growing and so will our contributions to our church.
All overage of goods is donated to Big Brothers & Big Sisters Organization.
Respectfully submitted
H. Audrey Eisser, Director
