Christ Church, the CRC and the Congregational Church presents Everywhere Fun Fair: Where God’s World Comes Together, this year’s VBS for children ages 4 – 12. During the week, children will enjoy creative crafts, fun games, lively songs and exciting Bible stories as well as receive a colorful t-shirt, snacks, and a week they will always remember. The materials fee for the week is $50 per child. Space is limited this year and the program will fill up quickly. Please register your child by contacting Lesley Mazzotta at lesleymazzotta@gmail.com or 917-623-4554.

What to Expect on Sundays

Our Sunday School classes for ages 3 -13 are offered in the newly renovated Education building of the CRC from September – June at 9:50am. Our children join the children of the Community Reformed Church for a Gospel-focused program that highlights stories, arts, crafts and group discussion. The classes are divided by age, and every grade is covered in five classes from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.

At the end of Church School (approx. 11:00 am), Father Lowry will go to the Reformed Church to officiate at the Church School Chapel service, which includes Communion for the students and teachers. The students, teachers and Father Lowry will then return to Christ Church for fellowship and refreshments in the church or, in good weather, outside the church.

We know what a great responsibility it is to care for and teach your children, so we want to do everything possible to ensure their well-being when they are with us. Our teachers have completed Safeguarding God’s Children training to provide the safest environment for learning, playing and growing. In addition, all families must complete our Sunday School Application Form and provide contact, allergy, and other needed information.

On the fourth Sunday of each month, children join the congregation for a special Family Service. Kids can participate by serving as torch bearers or acolytes, or reading the scripture. The Chapel Choir sings a special anthem. The children stay for the full service and receive the Eucharist with their families.

Special Events

Our teachers spoil us with parties for many occasions, such as "Ice Cream Sundae" to start the year, a Mardi Gras party, and a picnic.

Second grade children receive special instruction leading up to a low-key First Communion celebration in the spring.

We do service projects throughout the year, such as Operation Christmas Child and Cards for Veterans.

Infant and Toddler-Nursery Care

Babies and Toddlers through age 3 are well-cared for in our neighbors' fully-operating nursery, open every Sunday from 9:45am – 12:15pm. There, they will be greeted by one of our trained staff, who will work with parents to ensure that their children feel welcomed and cared for in our space. During their time with us, children are encouraged to play, imagine and explore through a special curriculum that introduces our youngest members to God’s love in all of creation!

Join us any Sunday morning in the undercroft of the Community Reformed Church. We look forward to meeting you and caring for your children while you participate in service. If you have any questions during your visit, please consult an usher, and they will be happy to assist you.

Please download and complete the nursery registration so that we are most able to care for your child.
