Children's Chapel Schedule
____________________________________________________________________________________________
2007 Assignment Schedule (click
here)
Our children's chapel liturgy largely
incorporates the primary elements of Morning Prayer ... with the same lay
participation by the children as the adults’ assignments in the church. Before
the start of the 9:30 service, the Usher hands out the Order of Service; Acolyte
1 will light the altar candles; the Lector reads the Lesson; the Offertory
person collects the envelopes in the offertory plate and takes the plate up to
the altar in the church walking directly behind the adult ushers; and Acolyte 2
extinguishes the candles.
You will notice that some children are on the schedule twice in the first three months. When making up the next schedules, I will do my best to rotate assignments so that each child has a different job and those who are on twice during this three month period will not be on twice in the next three month periods.
The children are pretty familiar with each of these responsibilities but please review with your child what he or she will do on the appropriate Sunday a day or two beforehand. If you will be away on an assigned day or if your child has an assignment with which he or she is not comfortable, please let me know with enough advance notice to arrange for a substitute and switch your child to a different Sunday. (If your child has not been assigned as a Lector and he or she would very much like to read a Lesson, please let me know that, also.)
If your child does not have offertory envelopes and you would like them to, please let me know. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to talk to me at church or call me.
Respectfully,
Heather Bennett
Director of Sunday School
