Visitations
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Fr. Lowry warmly encourages visitations at home or hospital bedside.
You don't even need to be a member of Christ Church ... we try to be as friendly
as we can.
But ... you need to take the first step and invite us. Please give Fr.
Lowry a call at (516) 627-2184 and we will arrange for a visitation at a place
and time of your convenience.
Pastoral Care Report
Pastoral care is an important part of the life of a parish. Hospital and home visits are essential for effective pastoral care. In any given year, there are 75 - 100 private communions within Christ Church. This includes weekly communions in homes. Most of the private communions are done by the Rector, with a few being done by the Seminarian Assistant in his role as Lay Eucharistic Minister. In addition, Lay Eucharist Ministers have been commissioned to take communion to parishioners, who are unable to attend services, and to hospitals and nursing homes. This is not intended to replace clergy visits, but will allow parishioners to receive the Eucharist on Sundays, rather than during the week.
Hospital visits are done regularly. Please know that a relatively new regulation limits the ability of clergy to seek-out parishioners in hospitals and nursing homes, so it is important that you contact the parish office when you or a family member goes into hospital.
